On 15 October 2023, GOT7’s BamBam was in town for his very first solo world tour, AREA 52 at the Mega Star Arena, Kuala Lumpur. Besides his dashing good looks, killer dance moves and bubbly personality, BamBam also captured the hearts of Muslim and Malaysian fans with his considerate actions of wearing gloves out of respect for our culture.

Ahead of the concert, he also appeared at Pavilion KL for a press conference and a fan sign event on 14 October.

Naturally, Ahgases (or GOT7 fans) swarmed to see the popular Thai K-pop star.

While we wished that we’d been there, we can’t image being part of this insane crowd. Talk about star power, though!

Despite being a superstar in his home country Thailand and being a famous K-pop idol, Ahgases are probably aware of the fact that BamBam is known for being very sincere and kind to everyone he meets.

This was further proven when he wore a glove during the press conference and fan sign event to prevent his bare hand from touching Muslim women. “I got gloves, so no worries, okay? If you’re uncomfortable with it just let me know,” he said.

Another fan recalled that during the GOT7 fan meet back in 2015 in Malaysia, they wore gloves during the Hi Touch event (basically where fans get the chance to high-five their idols in person) as well and even prepared a place for Muslim Ahgases to pray.

BamBam was seen wearing gloves again so that fans could shake his hand during the Goodbye Session. Have your hearts melted, yet?

On top of that, he even sang the song ‘Pulang’ by Malaysian pop band Imsomniacks, twice!

Fans were incredibly impressed by his cover of the song, saying, “Why does he sing like he’s fluent in Bahasa Malaysia?”

Another said, “Is he actually a Malay boy? Why didn’t he say so?”

The crowd also gave him a proper Malaysian welcome by saying, “Selamat Datang ke Malaysia!”
