Speaking at the Student Academy Awards recently, Ridley explained the actual reason to her Instagram departure.
“I felt a pressure being on it,” she said. “I was like, ‘I need to post. Oh my god, it’s been this many days’. It’s actually been kind of nice not to be on it.”

Staying on social media and in the public eye constantly sure takes a toll on a celebrity’s personal life. We don’t blame Ridley for staying away for a bit.“I’m 24. I have a lot of growing up to do. I have to deal with loads of stuff myself personally. For that to be projected with millions of people watching, that is like a bit of an extra pressure.”
But Ridley fans, don’t worry! She hasn’t completely ruled out the prospect of returning to Instagram.
“I think some people handle it well. Just right now it’s not for me, but who knows.”
Ridley isn’t the first celebrity to quit Instagram. Justin Bieber deleted his account after fans trolled the singer’s girlfriend, Sophie Richie. Last December, Ed Sheeran also announced that he was taking a break from his phone, emails and social media.
