Hey 90s kids, remember the cartoon TV show ‘Inspector Gadget’?

The show follows the adventures of a clumsy cyborg-police inspector who has a lot of things up his sleeves (literally) fighting crime with the help of his gadgets and niece, Penny.

Well, get ready for some serious throwback because Disney is planning to do a live-action remake of the ‘Inspector Gadget’ movie.

According the The Hollywood Reporter, Disney has hired Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell, writers of ‘Saturday Night Live’ to write the script of the live-action remake, as well as the producers of the live-action film ‘Aladdin’.

Do you remember watching this movie?
Back in 1999 Disney produced the original ‘Inspector Gadget’ live-action movie starring Matthew Broderick as the titular character, Rupert Everett, and Michelle Trachtenberg.

In case you didn’t know, Broderick is the original voice of the adult Simba in the Disney animated film ‘The Lion King’.

For now, there is no word yet on who will be cast for the new live-action remake or when will the movie debut.

In the meantime, who do you think will be perfect to play Inspector Gadget?
