XG Announces 1st World Tour in M’sia, Fans Lament Over Expensive Ticket Prices

It won’t be their first time appearing in Malaysia as XG debuted at the SUPALUPA Festival 2024 in March 2024. However, they only performed five tracks there, so there’s lots more to look forward to at the upcoming concert.

The tour is being promoted by AEG Presents Asia and InTour Live Event. Tickets are priced at RM458 (Cat 3), RM538 (Cat 2), RM638 (Cat 1), and RM988 (VIP). All prices exclude an RM4 booking fee, and each transaction is limited to four tickets.

Fans have been quick to voice out over the exorbitant prices as the cheapest tickets are priced at RM458, with some even saying that the event would be cancelled because the tickets might not be sold out. Another issue raised by fans is that it is being held on a Wednesday and at the Sungei Wang Plaza.

Their new single, ‘Woke Up,’ will be released on May 21, and the group comprises seven members: Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Juria, Cocona, Maya, and Harvey. XG is an acronym for ‘Xtraordinary Girls,’ and they are known for their boundary-breaking musical style, which is accompanied by bold outfits. They also made history by being the first Japanese girl band to appear on the cover of the US Billboard Magazine.

Besides KL, XG will visit several Asian cities, including Yokohama, Singapore, Seoul, Taipei, Bangkok, Manila, and more. The tour will also make stops in Greater China, North America, Australia, South America, and Europe.

Pre-sales for XG’s official fan club ‘Alphaz’ open on June 3 (Monday) at 1 pm, while general sales start on June 4 (Tuesday) at 1 pm. Tickets can be purchased here.
