Director and filmmaker Zack Snyder has decided to step away from directing Justice League to cope with the death of his daughter.

His 20-year-old daughter, Autumn, reportedly committed suicide in March.

Snyder told The Hollywood Reporter that he had considered returning to complete the movie, which is currently in the post-production stage.

But for the moment, he made the decision to take step back and be with his family.

Snyder’s wife has also reportedly stepped down from her role as producer for Justice League to grief her stepdaughter’s death.

Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the director of the Avengers films, will replace Snyder during the post-production stage of the movie.

He will reportedly oversee some of the scheduled reshoots that were already planned before Autumn’s passing.

Justice League, starring Ben Affleck, Gal Gado, Jason Momoa and Ezra Miller, is still due to release in cinemas on 17 November.
