We’re halfway through 2019 and a handful of movies that have been sitting on our must-watch Disney movie list of 2019 have been crossed off.

From the heartbreaking ‘Avengers: Endgame’ to the heartwarming ‘Toy Story 4’, it seems that this year has been a good one for us Disney movie fans.

So, what’s next?

Well, with a string of freshly-released trailers, we list down the top five upcoming movies all you Disney fans need to catch (like, duh!):

#1 ‘The Lion King’

Fans of the 1994 animated ‘The Lion King’, your life is about to come full circle. The star-studded live action remake of the animated film is set to meet viewers soon. What’s even more exciting is the fact that we will get to hear Queen Bey singing her own rendition of the classic "Can You Feel The Love Tonight"! Can’t afford to go for Beyonce’s concert? This is one of the solutions.

Release date: 19 July 2019
Cast: Donald Glover, James Earl Jones, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Beyonce

#2 ‘Maleficent 2’

Angelina Jolie shows who’s boss in the latest ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’ trailer. The badass enchantress is back and this time, she’s going to war over her daughter Princess Aurora, or more fondly knowns as Beasty. Let’s just say the movie went super dark and super magical this time around...and we totally love it!

Release date: 18 October 2019
Cast: Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Ed Skrein

#3 ‘Frozen 2’

Parents, brace yourselves because the dreaded, cold season is coming back. Just when you thought that kids will finally "Let It Go" (see what we did there?), Princess Anna and Elsa are back to haunt you once again. But this time, they’re going on a darker and dangerous path. Is it just us, or are some of Disney’s movies getting darker and darker?

Release date: 27 November 2019
Cast: Kristen Bell, Evan Rachel Wood, Jonathan Groff, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad

#4 ‘Onward’

Although The Avengers have somewhat unofficially disbanded and go their separate ways, but a mini reunion is happening in Disney/Pixar’s ‘Onward’. The movie is set in a fantasy world inhabited by elves, trolls, mermaids, centaurs, fauns, satyrs, gnomes, sprites, goblins and other mystical creatures. Two teenage elf brothers embark on a journey of a lifetime to discover if true magic still exists in their world.

Release date: 6 March 2020
Cast: Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Octavia Spencer

#5 'Mulan'

Although news of Mushu’s absence from the live-action remake of ‘Mulan’ screams “dishonour on your cow”, at least its trailer restores the honour of the Hua family to the movie. Casting Liu Yifei as Mulan was one of Disney’s best decisions to date, and she looks like someone you wouldn’t want to mess with. We seriously can't wait for Mulan to make a man out of us.

Release date: 27 March 2020
Cast: Liu Yifei, Donnie Yen, Jason Scott Lee, Yoson An, Gong Li, Jet Li
