#2 Winchester


Based on the true story of Sarah Winchester, a famous firearm heiress, the movie revolves around her mansion which is said to be the most haunted house in America. Sarah believed that her home was haunted by the tortured souls who were killed by the firearms created by her family. Instead of praying and calling a priest every now and then to halau the spirits, Sarah believed that to ward off those unwanted souls, she needs continue building her house non-stop. This is why the house is filled with weird staircases, doorways to nowhere, and even closets that can lead to your death.

#3 The Strangers: Prey At Night


If you remember watching The Strangers back in 2008 starring Liv Tyler and Gemma Ward, well, this is the sequel 10 years in the making. You can expect the return of three masked psychopaths (seriously the mask itself is already sending chills down our spine) where they terrorise a family who were on a road trip. Poor guys. At least it’ll be a memorable vacation, right?

#4 A Quiet Place


Usually horror movies would be filled with piercing screams of its victims or from terrorising ghosts/demons creeping up when you least expected it. Well this movie has an interesting plot twist; in order to survive you’d have to be as quiet as a mouse (or ever quieter than a mouse!) because apparently this weird demon is attracted to sounds.

#5 Slender Man


Arguably the most popular mythical ‘ghost’ on the internet, the Slender Man finally gets its own long-awaited movie. The fable Internet being is said to have a faceless, long, slender figure, with unnatural long arms that’s responsible for the haunting and disappearance of countless of children and teenagers. The trailer is kind of meh, so let’s hope the movie lives up to the hype.

If anyone fails to carry out the dares or tell the ultimate truth, that person will die.

#7 The Purge 4: The Island

If you like gore and people screaming for survival, this is it.
If you’ve ever wondered what on Earth led to the creation of this psychotic, horrifying, annual event, it will all be explained in this prequel. The trailer is yet to be released so there’s not much we know about the fourth installment of the movie except that it’s set on Staten Island.

#8 The Nun

This is what nightmares are made of!
Now here’s another masterpiece by James Wan that’ll give you nightmares for WEEKS. The Nun is a spin-off based on a character that appeared in the Conjuring 2. A priest and a nun join forces to investigate the mysterious death of another nun who committed suicide. Well to be honest, it doesn’t take a lot to convince us to watch this movie, just take one look at the nun you’d probably be scarred for life.
