Over the years, we've seen plenty of movie studios taking a trip down memory lane to reboot some of our favourite childhood series/cartoons/movies.

While some have worked out just fine, there are others that totally ruined our childhood (we're looking at you, 'Power Rangers' reboot).

Soon, we will see a childhood superhero joining the fray, and based on its first teaser, we reckon it's going to be great.

Suiting up once again

Every one's favourite giant superhero, Ultraman, will be hitting the big screen later this year.

Titled 'Shin Ultraman', the movie will see the 40-meter alien hero suiting up once again to protect Tokyo from the imminent attack of two monsters.

Here to save the day again.
In the trailer released on Saturday (30 January), we were treated to a first look at the two kaijus from the original 'Ultraman' TV series back in the 60s, Neronga and Gabora.

As they run amok in Tokyo, the Science Special Search-Party (SSSP), an organisation that investigates and responds to alien and kaiju threats, sent out a military team to neutralise the threats.

It was only towards the end of the trailer that we got a glimpse of our big boy Ultraman -- in his classic 1966 red-and-silver threads -- towering over buildings and powerlines.

Sounds pretty awesome, right? You can check out the trailer here:

To be honest, we certainly have really high hopes for 'Shin Ultraman' because it will be helmed by the same team behind the hit 'Shin Godzilla' movie, which was released back in 2016.

(If you have not seen it, we recommend you watch it now)

'Shin Ultraman' was written by Hideaki Anno, who also happens to be the creator of the popular manga series 'Neon Genesis Evangelion', so you know Ultraman is in good hands.

The movie, which was announced back in 2019, is set to be released in Japan cinemas this summer. We pray that the movie will make its way here too!
