When it comes to weddings, Asian couples go big with grand nuptials mixing traditional and modern aspects. One thing stays the same though, it’s always an unforgettable event. Here’s how some of Asia’s most affluent couples celebrated their big day.

#1 Vanisha Mittal & Amit Bhatia
Probably one of the most expensive weddings ever at 61 Million USD, daughter of the CEO of the world’s biggest steelmaker, Vanisha Mittal tied the knot with banker Amit Bhatia. The whole event lasted 11 days with the engagement party taking place at the Palace of Versailles, dinner at the Jardin des Tuileries and the actual wedding being held at The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte baroque palace. Talk about
extravagance!

#2 Angelababy & Huang Xiaoming
Now the six-carat engagement ring itself cost 1.6 Million USD and was designed by French jeweler Chaumet. Then again, this is the famous Hong Kong singer, model, and actress Angelababy, who is also known as the Asian Kim Kardashian. The ceremony held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center included a holographic castle and a ten-foot carousel shaped cake. Not to mention the goody bags for the guests had mobile phones! Now that’s a wedding we would have loved to attend.

#3 Chryseis Tan & Faliq Nasimuddin
Okay, so this was not just a wedding but it was a union of two affluent families. Berjaya Group heiress Chryseis married Faliq Nasimuddin, the youngest member of the Naza Group conglomerate in a multicultural event that paid equal attention to their Chinese and Malay heritage. The solemnization ceremony took place at the hills of renowned spa resort, The Chateau, Bukit Tinggi and was fully covered with canopies of flowers. Watch the breathtaking view of their matrimony.

#4 Song Joong Ki & Song Hye Kyo
This marriage caused quite an amount of hysteria when the former Korean drama co-stars fondly known as the Song Song couple got hitched in secret at the Shilla Seoul hotel. The casual duo kept it quiet and private inviting only close family members and friends. Eventually, a few pictures got leaked and their fans could not deny the love evident in the couple’s vows to each other. It’s tragic that the marriage did not last but it was still one to put in the list.

#5 Cheryl Yeoh & Jason Sew
Cheryl is best known as the CEO of the Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MaGIC), a government-funded agency to support entrepreneurship in Malaysia and ASEAN. In 2012, she was named “Top 44 Female Founders Every Entrepreneur Should Know” by Mashable and rightly so, while most brides hire top wedding planners, Yeoh, and her beau preferred to be hands-on. The pair got married in a small event in Bali where all the important wedding necessities like door gifts, cake toppers, and entertainment were done by them or handmade in general. Guys, sometimes it’s all about tender loving care.
