The HONOR 90 has launched and according to HONOR, it has surpassed sales for its predecessor, the HONOR 70, and it’s impressing customers with its features.

Risk-free Dimming Eye Protection
We’ve previously covered the Risk-free Dimming Eye Protection of the HONOR 90 but it bears repeating. HONOR 90 has introduced a world-first Risk Free Dimming Eye Protection that achieves 3840Hz ultra-high frequency PWM dimming that’s recognised by TÜV Rheinland Flicker-free certification.
The result of 480Hz low-frequency PWM dimming can be seen in the picture above and the thicker darker lines show up at lower brightness and can’t be seen by the naked eye.
With the 3840Hz ultra-high frequency PWM dimming, it is considered risk-free dimming according to IEEE Std 1789-2015 standards.
200 megapixel main camera and 50 megapixel front-facing camera

The HONOR 90 sports a triple rear camera with a 200MP Ultra-Clear Camera with f/1.9, a 12MP Ultra Wide and Macro camera at f/2.2, and a 2MP depth camera at f/2.4.
The camera array is attached to a large 1/1.4” sensor and is able to shoot 4K video with both the front and rear cameras. The front-facing camera is 50MP with portrait mode for stunning selfies.
While a higher pixel count does not equal better photos, the pixel-binning technology in the HONOR 90 outputs photos at 12MP that are sharper because it combines the surrounding pixels into one clear picture.

120Hz Refresh Rate Screen
The screen is also impressive with a 6.7-inch Quad-Curved Floating Display with DXO Gold Label that hits a peak brightness of 1,600 nits.
Paired with 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution AMOLED the screen of the HONOR 90 is on-par with many of today’s flagships. On top of that, the screen also supports HDR for truly accurate details in the blacks.
The feature can be disabled to save battery life, but with it’s battery capacity, you may just leave HDR on.
512GB Large Storage
The storage of the HONOR 90 is generous to say the least given that it starts at 256GB (Apple’s flagship starts at 128GB).
At this price point, the 12GB ram and 256GB storage provided is something that not all mid-range smartphones can provide. Safe to say, you won’t run out of storage soon, plus it’s only an extra RM300 for the storage upgrade.
