We don’t really think much of food courts in Malaysia besides being the go-to place when we can’t think of what to have for lunch. To put it bluntly, eating at the food court is the last resort when we want a plain and boring meal.

But that’s about to change (for the next three weekends, at least) because we found a place that reimagines the whole Malaysian food court experience and it is happening this month!

Tiffin Food Court has arrived for a giant celebration of food and drink – we’re talking a 30,000 square feet food haven with cuisines from 16 countries across all continents!

The former electronics manufacturing warehouse was transformed into a tasteful neon-wrapped food court.
Besides food, Tiffin Food Court also has a medley of exciting one-off culinary collaborations and activities that will entice those who are hungry for a food court experience that will suit our changing palates, tastes and lifestyles.

We love how we don't have to deal with rain and mud while eating.
So here’s why you need to get your butts down to Tiffin Food Court for the next couple of weekends.

1) Step into the 90s once again at 1Up Arcade

This neon-dipped arcade is where you can play an assortment of games you couldn’t take your hands off when you were a kid.

You wouldn't want to leave after stepping in.Do you remember this game? Or better, do you still play it now?
Malcolm Goh, executive chef of Define:food, will also be serving food you can only find at fine dining restaurants but at a fraction of the price! His menu includes:Chef Malcolm is also a host on Asian Food Channel.

2) Play a set of pool at The Red Hall

Visit this Modern Chinoiserie-themed hall in between your nibbles and sips because it will make the perfect backdrop for your OOTD posts.

This looks like a scene straight out of a movie.Come here for a more intimate and romantic dining experience.
Also occupying this spot is yet another fine dining purveyor, Pop Up Dining KL which will be serving an Italian-Asian fusion including:

3) Indulge in some cocktails and lush greenery at the Mezzanine Bar

The Mezzanine Cocktail Bar is for those who need a breather from all the gastronomical offerings happening down below.

You're in for a surprise once you step into the bar.
All the hand-crafted cocktails are developed by The 2017 Bar Awards Kuala Lumpur Bartender of The Year CK Kho, who is known his mixes at Coley in Bangsar and gin bar Pahit.

Call every kaki you know and bring them here.

4) Dine and chill at The Eatery

This dining hall is the main area where everyone gathers to, well, eat and drink.

The Eatery features thematic rooms and bars that serve coffee, cakes and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as DJs handpicked by experimental art and music collective Paras Bunyi.

This canteen is too cool for school.
If you’re tired of walking around hunting for food, just get comfortable at the UberEATS turf, order and have your food delivery straight to your table.

While waiting, pick a few leaves off the Garnish Garden by Eats, Shoots & Roots. We’re serious.

Don't be afraid of the edible garden, it's healthy and environmental-friendly!
And for the first time ever in Malaysia, Tiger is offering Street Beer for you and your drinking kakis to enjoy beer in new ways, like blending Asian ingredients such as chilli and mint, coconut and lemongrass, and more.

This doesn't look like your regular bottle of beer, does it?

5) Get a feel of Japanese sushi bars at Lucky 福 Cat

Located right smack in the middle of The Eatery is where you can find sushi counter serving Japanese cuisine like Truffle Yakiniku Donburi, Super Star Maki, Uncle Hiro's Chicken, Okonomiyaki Maki and more.

You can't help but feel attracted to the pretty yet cheesy pastel colours.

6) And of course, eat everything at The Food Street

How can you come to a food court without actually eating, right? Go ahead and choose from over 30 vendors serving the best of Afghanistan, China, Spain, Mexico, Vietnam, and duh, Malaysia.

The vendors are lined in a hawker-style manner that will take you a while to decide what to eat.
From local cult favourites to international flavours, we didn’t even know where to start! So after recovering from the food coma from last weekend, here are some of the food we remember eating:

Random Food Store.California Poke Bowl by Eatomo.Black Tea's Stinky Tofu.Killer Gourmet Burgers or KGB.
Desserts for the sweet tooth.Sup Gear Box.Fresh raw oysters by BoozEat.Cendol Durian by Rojak & Cendol Shah Alam.Snacks by Bowery KL.
Another cool thing we’d like to point out is that Tiffin Food Court is cashless event! They’re also the first to introduce cashless transactions within a food market setting with pouchNATION RFID wrist-tags and Boost app. Just top up, get tagged and eat your heart out!

You only have three weekends to enjoy all of these.
So if you don’t need any more convincing, Tiffin Food Court is happening Fridays to Sundays, 8 to 24 December from 5pm onwards at Lot No.1, Jalan SS8/6, Sungai Way Free Trade Industrial Zone, Petaling Jaya.

You can also check out Tiffin Food Court's schedule and full list of vendors on their website, and follow updates on their Facebook page.
