Monday was a dramatic day for Malaysia as the events that unfolded one after another felt just like we were watching a dramatic, local version of ‘Game of Thrones’.

In order to get the latest news to the masses, media practitioners have been camping outside the Istana Negara since Monday (24 February).

Most of them probably starved all day and didn’t have a chance to sit down for a decent meal.

Their plight has caught the attention of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA) Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, who then decided to ‘belanja’ everyone stationed outside of the palace gates with some glorious KFC.

Members of the media were happy with the gesture and definitely had a finger lickin’ good time eating by the gates of the palace.

Many Malaysians were also touched by the act of kindness and thanked not only the YDPA but the media practitioners for their unparalleled dedication.

Secret KFC In The Royal Palace?

We're sure everyone working there wished there was indeed a secret KFC within the palace.
Videos and photos of the palace staff members giving out KFC to media practitioners have been making its rounds on social media, and there was one question netizens wanted an answer to: is there a secret KFC within the compounds of Istana Negara since no one saw any delivery guy coming or leaving?

Some couldn’t help but to imagine there is one just like in the movie ‘Richie Rich’.

One netizen then cheekily asked Tengku Puteri Afzan on Twitter if the rumours are true.

Others joked about camping out in front of the Istana Negara the next day, in case the King gives out free food again (but please do not do that, guys).

Despite the political turmoil that’s going on, we could all agree that one thing could never divide us – our love for food.
