Earlier this year, MasterChef UK judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode created a stir from Europe all the way to Southeast Asia after commenting that a Malaysian contestant’s rendang dish wasn’t crispy enough.

This boo-boo led to a thing called #Rendangate, which at the time made headlines worldwide.

This not only triggered a massive backlash from Malaysians, but also from our fellow neighbours Singapore, Indonesia, and Brunei. Let’s just say some people should stop whitesplaining things they don’t understand in the first place.

And now, it seems that another ang moh chef is in the spotlight for misidentifying the most popular fruit not only in Malaysia, but also the whole of Asia.

Durian and cempedak also cannot differentiate, meh?
Celebrity chef Martha Stewart apparently used an image of a durian for an article titled “Here's Exactly How To Use Jackfruit”. Jackfruit, in our country, is more popularly known as buah nangka.

And this obviously, this didn’t sit well with Malaysians and also those from the neighbouring countries.

A quick check on their website showed that they have taken down the said image.

Meanwhile, Martha Stewart has yet to respond to this whole mess.

Maybe she's taking the time to learn about jackfruits and durian?
