Sometimes, some people ask for help in public in the most subtle of ways: some would give a wink, some would give a hand signal.

A barista working at a Starbucks outlet in the US was quick to notice a girl might be in danger, and he quickly let her know that he has got her back.

Jumped to her rescue

According to a report by Independent, the quick-thinking barista offered help to a teenager who was approached by a stranger by scribbling a message on a takeaway cup.

Brandy Roberson told News4 San Antonio that her daughter was studying alone at night at a Starbucks located in Corpus Christi, Texas last week when an "animated" man suddenly approached her.

Sensing that she might be in danger, the barista then handed her a cup, explaining it was “an extra hot chocolate someone forgot to pick up”.

On the cup, the barista scribbled a note, offering her help if she felt in danger.

"Are you okay? Do you want us to intervene? If you do, take the lid off the cup," the note read.

According to Roberson, her daughter did not feel in danger at all.

"I guess he was very loud and animated, you know. She wasn’t intimidated by it,” she was quoted as saying.

However, her daughter was extremely grateful for the staff’s concern.

“She looked up, and all of the employees were all just staring at her, just ready to help. She was so touched by that,” Roberson told News4 San Antonio.

When the stranger noticed that the girl was in communication with the staff at the cafe, he promptly left her alone and walked away.

This is such a heart-warming story, don't you think? We definitely need more people like this Starbucks barista in the world.
