Benihana KLCC Elevates Japanese Dining with a Fusion of Flavour & Performance
Benihana, the world-renowned Japanese teppanyaki restaurant with over 70 outlets globally, has officially made its Malaysian debut — and it’s nothing short of spectacular. Located on the 4th floor of Suria KLCC, Benihana Malaysia brings its signature blend of live culinary performance, bold Japanese flavors, and refined ambiance to the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
We recently got the opportunity to experience all it has to offer and here are our thoughts:
A triple-tiered dining experience
Benihana KLCC offers three distinct dining experiences, each tailored to suit different moods and occasions:

- The Live Teppanyaki Station: This is where the magic happens. Guests sit front-row as expert chefs dazzle with spinning spatulas, flying eggs, and fiery theatrics — all while preparing perfectly grilled meats and seafood right before your eyes.
- The Main Dining Area: Designed for a more laid-back experience, this space is ideal for enjoying a wide array of Japanese dishes in a relaxed, stylish setting.
- Private Dining Rooms: For those seeking intimacy or celebrating a special occasion, Benihana’s private rooms offer a quieter, more exclusive atmosphere without losing the brand’s signature flair.

A menu that marries performance with flavour
Benihana’s menu is a celebration of Japanese culinary craftsmanship. Start your meal with their Signature Rolls, such as the:
- Crazy Salmon Roll (RM48)
- Godzilla Roll (RM78)
- Boston Roll (RM58)
When it comes to mains, the teppanyaki offerings steal the spotlight:
- AUS Tenderloin Steak (RM98): Grilled to a perfect medium, served with crisp garlic chips and sautéed greens.
- Norwegian Salmon Belly (RM68): A melt-in-your-mouth experience with crispy skin and luscious fat.
- Fresh Boneless Chicken Thigh (RM54): Tender, juicy, and packed with flavor
- One Night in Tokyo (RM35): A sweet blend of strawberry, coconut, watermelon, and Yakult.
- Maneki Neko (RM35): A bright, bubbly soda infused with passion fruit, mango, and hibiscus.
- Nara (RM35): A refreshing concotion consisting of lychee, cherry blossom and lemon.
During our visit, we got the opportunity to try out the Boston Rolls and Benihana Teppanyaki of AUS Tenderloin Steak and Norwegian Salmon Belly. The Boston Rolls were a delightful fusion of fresh lobster bits, ebi tempura, kyuri, tobiko, and lobster sauce. Each bite offered a satisfying crunch from the tempura, balanced by the creamy richness of the lobster and the subtle pop of tobiko. The rolls were beautifully plated and bursting with umami, making them a standout appetiser

Meanwhile, the teppanyaki experience was a show in itself — the AUS Tenderloin was seared to perfection, tender and juicy with a rich, smoky flavour, while the Norwegian Salmon Belly melted in the mouth, offering a buttery texture and delicate taste that paired beautifully with the chef’s signature glaze. This was served alongside Benihana's signature garlic fried rice which was fragrant, perfectly seasoned, and cooked with just the right amount of crispness.
The combination of sizzling meats, aromatic rice, and the chef’s engaging performance at the grill made for a memorable and satisfying dining experience that delighted both the palate and the senses.

In terms of drinks, our favourite of the night was the One Night in Tokyo — a sweet blend of strawberry, coconut, watermelon, and Yakult. It was refreshingly light yet indulgently creamy, with the Yakult adding a subtle tang that balanced the fruity sweetness perfectly— the perfect complement to our meal.
A must-visit destination for food and fun
