With everyone cooped at home for most of the pandemic, ‘glamping’ sites have popped out all over the country and it seems this new trend has spilled over to influence cafes throughout Malaysia as well. While we’ve heard of floral and nature-themed cafes like Botanica + Co, some these cafes take the whole concept of themed cafes up another notch as they revolve around the experience of camping while others are actual glamping spots.

If you haven’t had to leisure to actually go glamping, visiting these unique cafes are the next best thing:

Base Camp, KL

Self-dubbed as a ‘wanderluster’s rest stop’, this ‘camping ground’ is actually a hidden café on the roof of a 1940s refurbished shophouse at The Row KL. This outdoor coffee bar serves soup, sandwiches and pasta and has wooden structures put up to resemble tents along with camping chairs and tarp to add to the ambiance. Plus, its pet-friendly too!

If you’re all about that camping life, this spot is a must-visit. Recline on a camping chair as you enjoy a good book or two and their aromatic coffee. Make sure you don’t leave without having a bite of their croffle stuffed with salami.
