Last week, the tech industry went into frenzy mode after Samsung announced the Galaxy Fold, a foldable phone that is the first of its kind.

So did Huawei with the unveiling of their own folding 5G smartphone.

Huawei Mate X.
Overnight, everybody started Googling "foldable phones" because some of us were confused whether these companies just brought back the good old flip phone and decided to call it something else.

Do we really need a foldable phone?
A certain popular company chose to make fun of this new technology and it is not exactly a tech company like Samsung or Huawei.

The clever tweet carefully promotes the LEGO Fold, down to its "5-inch cover display" that opens up to reveal an "11-inch pop-up story book".

You will notice that the marketing looks somewhat similar to that of Samsung's.

Which one would you get?
Of course, the LEGO Fold also offers a battery that "never runs out", a witty play on practically all mobile gadgets out there.
We don't need to spell out the fact that LEGO's version is not a really piece of tech.

The LEGO Fold is essentially a foldable book called the Pop-Up Book.

This is way cuter.
While both products use folding plastic, the Samsung Galaxy Fold costs about USD2,000, while LEGO's is way cheaper at a USD69.99 price point.

They may not serve the same purpose, but we must appreciate LEGO for their creativity and sense of humour.

Well played, LEGO.
