A couple in England have probably started a new trend in the country by successfully holding a drive-in wedding amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Roma Popat and Vinal Patel's wedding was held in front of 250 guests who sat in their cars and watched the ceremony on big screens outside.

According to BBC, guests were given hampers of snacks and hand gel, and ordered food online, delivered by waiters.

A memorable rainy day.
The couple’s wedding planner said they may have started a new trend as the ceremony was a hit.

A COVID-19 friendly affair

"As Asian wedding planners, we're used to large numbers, so it's been extremely difficult. But you've to get creative and think outside of the box."

The couple initially brought up the idea of a drive-in wedding as a joke. It sounded crazy but the more they talked about it, the more it seemed possible.

Looks like so much fun.
Guests can watch them on a big screen.
"We've had quite a lot of calls from couples keen to replicate the idea, so it could be a new trend,” said Saheli Mirpuri.

This is definitely a new and safe way to hold weddings during this pandemic.

So, future brides and grooms, are you up for a drive-in wedding?
