Technology not only makes our lives easier, but it can also gauge our emotions.

Don’t believe us? Here’s the proof.

Amazon has come up with a wristband that can gauge how happy a person is by the sound of their voice.

According to a report in AFP, Amazon Halo combines data gathered by a sensor-packed wristband with artificial intelligence tools to provide wearers with feedback regarding their physical and mental health.

Enhancing general wellness

Amazon Halo's principal medical officer Dr Maulik Majmudar said they are using Amazon's deep expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning to offer customers a new experience in wellness.

The device which is priced at US$65, can among others discern intensity of activity, distinguish walking from running, and reliably assess a wearer's level of body fat.

Its Tone feature also helps analyse "the positivity and energy" in someone's voice to assess how happy, sad, tired or excited they sound.

Hmmm... sounds interesting!
