Are you the type who passes your smartphone to your kids so that they can entertain themselves by playing games or watching videos on YouTube?

Well, after reading this article, you should probably keep a close eye on what your kids are doing with your smartphone.

What a costly mistake

A father of a five-year-old boy in Sydney learnt this the hard way when his son accidentally ordered AUD1,200 (RM3,642) worth of ice cream and cakes while playing with his phone.

According to a report by Daily Mail, the man had lent his smartphone to his son so that he could play Tetris.

However, the man soon received a message from Uber Eats notifying him that his food had been delivered.

Upon checking, he got a shock when he saw a bill for a AUD1,200 order from Gelato Messina, a bespoke gelato shop in Australia.

If things weren't bad enough, the boy had the items delivered to his father’s workplace on his off day, so he was forced to drive all the way to work to sort things out.

The hilarious story was shared by Gelato Messina on their Instagram Page.

The report said that the boy’s order included 14 jars of Dulce de Leche spread, seven cakes, five bottles of milk and six boxes of ice cream!

Apparently, the boy's accidental order was much larger than what was shared on social media, as his father had to give away the a bulk of the order to his colleagues at the fire department.

Poor man. We are pretty sure he will not allow his boy to go near his phone ever again after this!
