In today's world, health and fitness are very much infused with technology. You have your smart watches, fitness apps and more to help you maintain a healthier lifestyle.

Unfortunately, keeping up with a regular workout routine can be challenging for our current generation. With work and family commitments added onto long daily commutes, how do we find the time to exercise?

Hence the reason why AIA Vitality is changing things up for Malaysians with this urban exploration race.

For the first time, District Race debuted in Kuala Lumpur to help us explore the city with greater appreciation in a whole new way.

First launched in Singapore last year, District is a ground-breaking platform that encourages people to lead active and healthy lifestyles through an urban exploration experience that is fun and engaging.

This is all done through the District Race app.

Let's talk a bit more about the app.

It's like playing a game while getting fit at the same time.
It is an experiential technology platform that redefines running and urban exploration through gamification.

Imagine Pokémon GO, but for health and fitness.

The app combines augmented reality and location-based technology to bring cities to life in an immersive experience.

Use the app to navigate through the city, collect as many points as possible by clearing virtual checkpoints and challenges.

There is no set route or distance, so explorers are free to create your own strategy and choose your preferred way to explore the city.

So, whether you're a fitness newbie looking to rediscover the city or an elite runner who wants to reach new heights or you're just looking for a fun, healthy and educationcal experience with your family, District Race is designed for anyone and everyone.

Now, this is all leading up to the main race day to be held on 3 November at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur.

District Race by AIA Vitality is now available in Malaysia.
Before D-day, the race will go live in stages across Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Melaka and Johor Bahru from now until 20 October.

Virtual checkpoints known as 'grids' will be set up all across these locations, giving everyone a chance to explore for free and experience the District Race before the finale.

Besides that, you can also start using the app and get rewards through the Ultimate Explorer Challenge.

The goal is to encourage people to get out, explore and level up their fitness. The person who scores the most points by completing District grids in Malaysia from between 17 June and 2 November will win a trip to attempt Distrcit grids in more than 15 cities around the world!

The winner of this challenge will be announced during race day on 3 November.

Now, if you download the District Race app and complete at least five grids from now until 31 July, you will be rewarded with a free ticket to race!
