Imagine eating a plate of spaghetti carbonara infused with teh tarik as its creamy element.
Huh?
If you just cannot brain this, we absolutely understand.
The unconventional dish is actually a real thing and is the brainchild of a Malaysian Instagram chef.
According to a report in Mothership Singapore, Mohd Asri Atan posted a video of him cooking seafood carbonara with a glass of instant 3-in-1 BOH teh tarik, on his Instagram channel.
A strange combination
Calling it the 'Carbonara Teh Tarik Kurang Manis', Mohd Asri explained that the teh tarik replaced cooking cream and milk typically used in carbonara.
"Oh my god, I swear this tastes so good. The tea and milk blends well with the gravy and spaghetti,” he wrote on Instagram.
He even shared the recipe for those who wanted to try it out.
Of course, the recipe received mixed reactions from netizens.
You can already guess that most of them turn up their noses at it.
"Don't you feel nauseous?” said one user.
"Will probably have diarrhoea after eating it. Urghhh,” said another user.
Some were curious as to how the dish would taste like.
"His recipe makes others want to try it just to find out how the teh tarik carbonara tastes like,” said one user.
Would you try such a fusion dish?
