Ex Miss Universe Malaysia Slammed For 'Ignorant' Remarks On #BlackLivesMatter Protest In US
Currently in America, riots have erupted nationwide because of the wrongful death of George Floyd, who died after a police officer stuck his knee on Floyd’s neck despite him pleading that he was suffocating.
The harrowing incident was recorded and went viral, attracting global attention.
A lot of people from all walks of life have voiced their thoughts on the matter, including former Miss Universe Malaysia 2017 contestant, Samantha Katie James.

Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid?
She says that she “doesn’t live in America” and it has nothing to do with her, but to her, it seems that the white people have won as people are responding with rage and anguish to the current issue. The actress added that those who have nothing to do with the issue should not be concerned about it or be a “busy body”.

“To the Black people, relax. Take it as a challenge, makes you stronger,” Samantha wrote.
“You chose to be born as a ‘coloured’ person in America for a reason. To learn a certain lesson.”
“Accept it as it is, till now hunger and poverty still exists. It is what it is. It’s inevitable. Best you can do is remain calm, protect heart, and don’t allow it to crumble.”
However, there were also some who sided with the beauty queen after she shared screenshots of conversation with those who replied to her stories.
Over on Twitter, Samantha became the talk of the social media site, and the term ‘Miss Universe Malaysia’ is also currently trending.
Wrath of Netizens

Netizens were livid, as someone of her influence would say such a thing while others were disappointed that she didn’t use her platform for a greater cause.
Some also questioned how was she selected to represent Malaysia in the Miss Universe pageant in the first place and urged that she do more reading about the social injustice that’s currently going on in the world.

Imagine comparing her white ass being scolded by her headmistress for “bringing western culture to school” with years of slavery and institutional racism suffered by black and brown folk. Does she still have her Miss Universe Malaysia 2017 crown?— BABY BARB (@EdgeDora) June 1, 2020

“Our Miss Universe Malaysia” reposting conversations between her & strangers wanting to “expose” them and embarrass them is only embarrassing herself. You think people want your attention but really they just want you to keep your bigoted thoughts to yourself.— Annatasha (@monkeydisease) June 1, 2020
Today I learnt two things from our very own Miss Universe Malaysia.1. I ‘chose’ to be born Indian; and2. Chinese mother + Brazilian father = white baby. pic.twitter.com/Fs2SrU1B5s— Lei ?️? (@GetLei_d) June 1, 2020
