Family of Three Among 4 Killed in Devastating 11-Vehicle LPT Crash

Last night, a horrific accident at KM110.4 of the East Coast Expressway 1 (LPT1) claimed the lives of four people, including three members of the same family.

According to a report, the incident occurred at about 10 PM near the Temerloh toll plaza exit. A total of 11 vehicles were involved, including a tanker truck, an express bus, four cars, three sport utility vehicles (SUVs), a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), and a pickup truck.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director Mohd Salahuddin Isa said the driver and two passengers of an SUV were killed at the scene. The crash also claimed the life of another man who was travelling in a separate SUV.

It is understood that all the vehicles were travelling from Kuala Lumpur towards Kuantan when the accident occurred. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

"All the victims who died in the accident were trapped inside their vehicles. Firefighters took more than an hour to extricate them."

"Two other victims, including the tanker truck driver and a man travelling in an SUV, suffered serious injuries. Meanwhile, all 30 passengers on the express bus escaped unharmed."

Videos showing the aftermath of the crash have since gone viral on social media, with many Malaysians expressing their condolences to the victims' families.

A couple and their young son among those killed

Meanwhile, the three family members who tragically lost their lives in the accident have been identified.

Nur Atiqah Sofiya Mohd Kazwan, 32, died alongside her husband, Muhammad Nazatullah Nazmi, 32, and their young son. The family were travelling in a Proton S70 at the time of the crash.

Nur Atiqah is understood to have been the owner of Secangkir Cafe in Sungai Karang, Pahang.
