Nasi lemak overload? Yep.

2017 was the year of the nasi lemak, with the introduction of several nasi lemak-inspired dishes such as McDonald's Nasi Lemak Burger and the Lobster Nasi Lemak.

So that got us thinking: how long would it take for some restaurant chain to introduce a nasi lemak-inspired something in 2018?

Well, we've got our answer: three months.

We need some nasi lemak-something.
Singaporean curry puff chain Old Chang Kee has recently introduced their new product: the nasi lemak curry puff.

Called the “Nasi Lemak Chicken 'O” (what?), you'll find the usual stuff you normally see on a plate of nasi lemak stuffed into a tiny curry puff: chicken meat, boiled egg, peanuts, ikan bilis and sambal.

Interestingly, the nasi lemak part is missing from the curry puff, so yeah, there's no real nasi in the curry puff.

Oh, the crust of the curry puff is green in colour, but it's not made out of santan or anything; just your usual food colouring.

(Also, is it just us or is the green a little bit geli?)

Like real nasi lemak, but it's not.According to the Old Chang Kee, the nasi lemak curry puff is a promotional item, so it's only available for a limited time.

The 'Nasi Lemak Chicken 'O' is sold at SGD2 (RM5.91) each, or SGD3.50 for two (RM10.24).

If you're heading to Singapore soon, go grab one or two and let us know what you think.
