A group of quick-thinking hikers recently rescued two men who fell into a waterfall pool in Canada.

According to a report in NBC News, the incident happened at Golden Ears Provincial Park in Canada, where two men had slipped on a rock and fallen into a pool above the waterfall.

A group of five hikers reportedly were told by another group about the incident and they decided to make a makeshift rope out of turbans and clothes that they were wearing, to pull the men to safety.

Quick thinking saved the day

Thankfully, the 10-meter makeshift rope managed to do the job.

One of the five men, Kuljinder Kinda, recorded the whole incident and rescue attempt.

"In Sikhi (Sikhism), we are taught to help someone in any way we can with anything we have, even our turban,” Kuljinder was quoted as saying.

The hikers’ quick-thinking move was praised by Ridge Meadows Search and Rescue manager Richard Laing.

"Quite amazed. I'd never heard anything like that or seen anybody doing anything like that. I thought it was quite resourceful – they showed great presence of mind to put something together in such a short time,” he told CTV News Vancouver.
