A homeless woman was caught singing opera in the Los Angeles metro transit system in California, United States recently and the video went viral for all the right reasons.

Emily Zamourka, a trained violinist and pianist who emigrated to the country from Russia, had vocals so powerful that it moved a police officer to record her performance.

The video was posted on the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Twitter page with the caption "4 million people call LA home".

Philippine Daily Inquirer, quoted LAPD spokesperson Sgt. Hector Guzman saying that Zamourka’s voice had struck a chord with the officers.

"It was powerful the first time we saw it, and every time we see it again, it’s still powerful," he said.

"The message for us was simple: remind ourselves to take a moment to look around and listen."

She doesn't even look 52.
Meanwhile, the 52-year-old said she sings in the subway because it sounds great and that she would be grateful if people can find her a home and get her some musical instruments.
