"You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

Who remembers that quote from Winnie the Pooh? These simple yet powerful words spoke to many children growing up around the world.

And guess what? Today marks 90 years since the first book about our favourite gentle bear by A.A. Milne! To commemorate the anniversary of Winnie the Pooh, four new tales and a new character have been introduced.

Winnie the Pooh became an instant worldwide hit when it was first published on 14 October 1926, selling 35,000 copies in Britain and more than 150,000 copies in the United States. The classic children’s book went on to take over the world after being translated into over 50 different languages.

Following this success, Egmont Publishing decided to reintroduce the series to a new generation of readers with a sequel titled The Best Bear in All the World, collaborating with authors Paul Bright, Kate Saunders, Jeanne Willis, and Brian Sibley.

Milne penned the book series based on his son, Christopher Robin, and his stuffed animal collection. Joining the gang of Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, Roo, and Tigger is the brand new addition – Penguin. The character is based on a photograph of Milne and Christopher playing with a penguin toy.
