Do you know what’s probably the most sought-after shoe in the world? It’s the Nike Moon shoes, a running shoe that’s designed and handmade by Nike co-founder and legendary Oregon University track coach Bill Bowerman.

According to the Guinness World Records, there are only 12 pairs of Nike waffle-soled shoes in existence.

And one of it was recently sold at a Sotheby’s Auction for a jaw-dropping US$437,500 (RM1,802,281.25)!

The purchase earned a spot in the Guinness World Records for the most expensive trainers (sneakers) sold at auction.

Canadian collector and businessman Miles Nadal became the man of the hour via this purchase. A week before acquiring the Nike Moon shoes, Nadal bought 99 pairs of sneakers at the auction.

But if you’re curious to see how it looks in person you may not need to look far because apparently a Kelantanese man owns a pair of one of the rarest shoes in the world.

Facebook user Ide Adol shared that his friend, an avid Nike shoe collector, Hatu Guni also owns a pair of Nike Moon shoes.

To further backup his claim, the shoe has been verified and comes with its original box.

According to Masses, only two pairs in such condition exists in the world – one in a museum in Canada, and one in Kelantan.

Well, who would’ve known that we’d have hardcore sneaker heads right in our own backyard?
