If you are bored at home especially with the extension of the Movement Control Order (MCO) period, you could nurture something to life!

And no, we are not talking about making babies (although it's fine if you want to do so).

We are talking about planting an easy vegetable at home – the ever-versatile bean sprouts or taugeh.

Grow your own food at home

A Malaysian woman took to Facebook recently to show us how easy it is to grow the vegetable at the comfort of her own house.

Malay Mail reported that Chew Mee Ho only used green beans, a plastic bottle, and some gauze for her impressive harvest.

According to her instructions, you must first soak the beans for six hours inside the bottle before pouring out the water and securing the opening with a piece of gauze.

Soak the beans in the bottle.
Mee Ho later added that it was important to keep the bottle away from direct sunlight during this step.

To nurture and grow it, you would need to water the beans at night and pour out the excess water afterwards.

According to Mee Ho, you would then need to water the beans three times a day with cold water until they are ready to harvest.

Keep it away from direct sunlight.
Yep, it's really that simple.

According to Mee Ho, she managed to harvest an impressive 600g of taugeh in just five days.

Her step-by-step guide has since gone viral on the social media site, having been shared more than 11,000 times.
