It’s an attraction or a museum that houses hundreds of wax figurines featuring some of the most iconic celebrities and also popular figures throughout the decades.
And the next person to be immortalised in the form of wax is… *drum roll* our legendary shuttler, Lee Chong Wei!
Immortalised in wax
Madame Tussauds Hong Kong recently announced that the former world No.1 international badminton player, Lee Chong Wei, will be the first Malaysian athlete to be part of the attraction.
The move was to pay homage to the G.O.A.T athlete’s powerful impact in badminton.
Chong Wei spent about six hours recording his measurements at Madame Tussauds which he praised the team for being very thorough.
“I’m impressed at how they recorded the details so meticulously, including the colour of my hair and eyes!” he said.
“I’m extremely honoured and grateful to be representing Malaysia. I hope that my wax figure will inspire more Malaysians to showcase their talent on the global stage.”
Excited to be included in the display
I would never have imagined a wax figure of my own! Thank you @madametussaudshongkong for the privilege and I’m extremely honoured to be the first Malaysian sportsman to join the list.#pleasedontplayabeckhamcordenprank #honoured https://t.co/zAz3b8AW3g pic.twitter.com/fQeeqMFymW
