Meet Seleste and Anthony, a pair of Malaysians making waves in New York by introducing kuih muih to the masses. The pair were chefs previously and worked in Singapore for the likes of Jean-Georges, Spice Market, and Four Seasons.

They started Lady Wong in February 2021 as an online delivery only business and launched their store in 2022. Their aim is to "Celebrate the timeless flavors of Southeast Asia" and their motto at Lady Wong is ‘Truly a love letter of Nanyang Flavors’.

Though their inspiration is not solely Malaysian kuihs, it's surreal to see Lapis Sagu, Angku Kuih, Ondeh ondeh and Pulut Inti being enjoyed by New Yorkers.

On top of these familiar sweet treats, they've also included teh tarik on the menu alongside pulut hitam latte, a full body Creamy Black Rice latte with salted coconut milk. Sounds absolutely yum!

They have a strong following and over 8000 followers on Instagram now. If you're in New York, look for them at 332 East 9th Street. Just watch out for those lines!
