Are you a fan of Famous Amos’ scrumptious cookies? You just can't resist the smell of the freshly-baked cookies every time you walk past an outlet in the mall.

Well, here’s some good news for you: you can now make them at home, thanks to a Facebook user who shared the secret recipe of the cookies.

According to a report by Yahoo! News, Baizura Muhammad posted the recipe and photos of the cookies she made on her Facebook page last month.

She even tagged her friend Anney Z Mustapha in her post, saying that the recipe was actually from Anney.

Does Anney work for Famous Amos? We don't know, but we thank her for the recipe nonetheless.

“The recipe is very easy, just use a ladle to stir the mixture until it’s even, then pinch with your hands and bake!

“It’s so easy, you could even bake with your children! This mixture can fit four wide jar containers, and this recipe makes it great for you to share with your neighbours! Even if you can’t celebrate Hari Raya in your hometown, we all can be fat together!” she wrote.

Her recipe has since gone viral on the social media site, having been shared more than 256,000 times.

250g of butter
1 ¼ cup of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
1 egg
2 ½ cups of wheat flour
½ cup of corn flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate
6 tablespoons of cooking oil
2 cups of chocolate chips
Add almond flakes if preferred

All the ingredients you need.

Instructions (translated from Malay):

1. Mix 250g of butter with brown sugar and vanilla essence in a mixing bowl. Break in the egg. Do not use a mixer; stir gently with a ladle or spoon, just to make the mixture even. You can also use your hands.

2. In the same mixing bowl, add some wheat flour, corn flour, sodium bicarbonate, baking powder, and cooking oil. With a slow movement, mix the ingredients evenly.

3. When the mixture is even, add two cups of chocolate chips and stir them in slowly.

4. Add almond flakes or almond nibs, cornflakes, or Nestum oats, whatever tickles your fancy. Stir well.

5. Cover the bowl of cookie dough and put it in the fridge for 20 minutes or more, if your fridge is not cold. Make sure your batter turns a bit harder.

6. Grease your baking tray with some butter. Pinch the cookie dough into little blobs and arrange them on the tray.

7. Pre-heat the oven to 150 degrees, then bake them for about 20 minutes.

8. Remove the cookies from the oven. Let them cool so they will be crunchy. After that, you can dig in.
