Marry This Thai Man's Daughter And You'll Get RM1.3mil And His Durian Business

A Thai millionaire is offering all the single guys out there a truckload of money and his entire durian business.

The catch? You'll have to marry his daughter.

Yep, you read that right: the man in question, 58-year-old Arnon Rodthong, has promised to give the man his daughter marries a cool 10 million Thai Baht (RM1,286,129) in cash.

The lucky man will also get Arnon's huge durian farm located in the Chumphon province, southern Thailand - the largest in the area which is reportedly worth several million Ringgit.

To sweeten the deal, Arnon has also agreed to waive the dowry if the man is serious about marrying his daughter.

His daughter, Karnsita, helps him run the family business and Arnon wants a man who could help his daughter keep the business afloat when he retires.

"Anyone who knows how to buy and select durian and source the fruit from orchards can take my daughter's hand.

"I won't ask for a single Baht in dowry from him but will instead give him 10 million Baht in cash, 10 vehicles, a house, two durian markets and the daughter," he said in a Facebook post that has since gone viral.

He added that his future son-in-law "must be good and must not be a gambler" and he "must be hardworking and truly love my daughter".

If you think Karnsita is just an heiress and a 'damsel in distress'-type, boy, you're so wrong.

The 26-year-old has an honours degree from Bangkok’s Assumption University and a master's degree from Sun Yat-sen University in China.

Karnsita, who is fluent in English and Chinese, had reportedly confirmed that she is still single and she's never had a boyfriend before.

Although she admitted that she was surprised to hear about her dad's unusual offer, Karnsita did not object to his decision.

"At first, I thought my dad was joking but it turns out he's seriously looking for a son-in-law. My siblings and I respect his decision," she was quoted by the Bangkok Post as saying.

As expected, both Arnon and Karnsita's phones blew up after after the offer went viral on social media, so the durian kingpin has decided that the most logical way to pick the right man for his daughter is to run a 'Hunger Games'-style tournament.

According to Arnon, potential suitors would have to gather at the family's durian shop at the Noen Sung Market in Chanthaburi on 1 April for a three-month battle royale work trial.

“Bring lots of clothes, you will be working for three months.

"If more than two suitors remain after that, you’ll work for three more months until only one man is left. That’s the partner I want for my daughter,” Anon said in another Facebook post.
