'Help! We're staying home because of the Movement Control Order (MCO) but we can't cook!'

We hear your cries, oh people who are not kitchen-trained.

(Cause we pun don't know how to cook sangat :P ).

Thankfully for us, there are some kick-a$$ home cooks out there who are trying to help people like us by providing simple-to-make food recipes.

We stumbled upon several simple recipes online, as well as this awesome Facebook page called Kuali Mama, and they are so easy to understand, even your kids could make them too (under adult supervision, of course).

Here's a few simple recipes that you can try and 89.9 per cent guaranteed can jadi one lah!

Recipe 1: Murtabak Maggi

Simple yet yummy dish.
Ingredients:


1 packet of Maggi
2 eggs
1/2 big onion
1 red chilli

How to make?

1. Soak Maggi in hot water and let the noodles soak between 1 to 2 minutes until it gets soft.
2. Break eggs in a separate bowl and beat.
3. Season eggs with a bit of salt and sugar.
4. Include onion and chilli. Stir well.
5. Add a bit of Maggi seasoning to the bowl.
6. Remove noodles from the bowl of hot water. Cut it with a fork so that it isn't too long.
7. Mix noodles into the bowl containing egg mixture.
8. Heat a pan with some oil.
9. Pour mixture onto pan and wait for it to cook.
10. Flip to ensure both sides brown and serve.

Recipe 2: Nutella and Kaya Pancakes

Breakfast pancakes?
Ingredients:


1 1/2 tsp of wheat flour
1/2 cup fresh milk
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon custord powder
A little bit of vanilla essense
1 egg
1 teaspoon baking powder

How to make?

Mix all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
Heat up pan and make mini pancakes.
Once done, remove from pan and include Nutella or kaya or any other filling that you like.


Recipe 3: Hot dog cheese puff

Hot dogs are the best dogs.
Ingredients


Hot dog
Cheese
Puff pastry (Kawan brand)
Egg yolk for baking

How to cook?

1. Preheat oven to 200°
2. Roll the pastry
3. Place slice of cheese and sausage on pastry.
4. Wrap the pastry around the sausage to form a hot dog.
5. Brush the top with egg yolk
6. Bake for 10 minutes

Recipe 4: Chicken cheese balls

Perfect for tea time snack.
Ingredients


A packet of Ramlee burger patties
Cheddar cheese
1 egg
Breadcrumbs

How to cook?

1. Cut patties into four.
2. Roll each cut piece into a ball.
3. Stick some mozzarella cheese in the middle of the ball and roll shut.
4. Coat the ball in egg and breadcrumbs.
5. Fry until golden brown.

Recipe 5: Pancake souffle

This pancake looks so fluffy!
Ingredients


A
2 egg yolks
25g fresh milk
40g wheat flour
1tsp baking powder
1tsp vanilla essence

B
2 egg whites
30g sugar
Squeeze a bit of lemon (if available)

How to cook?

1. For ingredients A, mix the egg yolks and milk together before including the flour and baking powder.
2. Set aside
3. For ingredients B, beat the egg whites until it bubbles and then add sugar. Mix until it turns into a thick consistency. You can even use a mixer for this.
4. Mix ingredients A and B together.
5. Heat a pan and cook pancakes. Make sure to cover the pan with a lid while cooking.
6. Add a bit of sugar powder before serving with your preferred topping.
