Ever since the Movement Control Order (MCO) started on 18 March, a lot of people have lost their incomes and are now struggling to survive.

Touched by the plight of some Malaysians, local content creator Arwind Kumar or also known as ‘Mak Cik Roast-Mah’ has decided to help those affected by using his own personal savings.

Incredible gesture

Through his Facebook account, Arwind announced on 2 April that he would be giving out RM150 to help those who are in need to cope during the MCO.

You may know him better via his videos as Mak Cik Roast-Mah.
He also shared that he has given up to RM700 in certain cases where people were struggling very hard with food and paying their rent.

The social activist has helped close to 100 families/individuals to date via his campaign #QuaranTEAM.

His act of kindness has also inspired others to help those who are less fortunate during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“#QuaranTEAM started when I wanted to help 10 families ease their burden during this tough time by donating RM150 each using my personal savings,” Arwind said via his Facebook page.

“After sharing my initiative, a lot of kind souls have stepped forward and join forces with me to help those in need.”

“From 10 donations, we reached 30. And from 30 we reached 80 families who are struggling with rent, medications, food, baby milk, and many more.”

He ended the note by asking his followers to send him a message on Facebook if they or they known anyone who needs any financial help during this time.

His followers sang happy praises for Arwind and those who were touched by his initiative dubbed him as a hero.

Keep up the good work, Arwind! We need more kind-hearted people like you during these challenging times.
