It looks like Neelofa keeps making headlines every day since her wedding took place on 27 March.

From her wedding which was non-compliant with the COVID-19 SOPs to her Chatime-Langkawi controversial work trip, now she’s thrusted into the spotlight once again after a launching a new slipper in conjunction with her new app, The Noor.

Slip-on slippers but make it halal

The slipper comes in four shades.
The new slippers, which was created in collaboration with Fipper and The Noor app, raised eyebrows after listing one its unique selling points: "Muslim-friendly”.

The slip-on type slipper that comes with comfort dual-layer rubber strap and moisture absorb finishing is priced at RM79.90 each and comes in four colours.

Since the product was marketed as “Muslim-friendly”, the slippers has raised eyebrows among netizens, who then accused Neelofa of taking advantage of her religion (penunggang agama) to come up with such a product.

Some were also curious as to what qualities that the slippers have to deem it as “Muslim-friendly” and others even suggested a cheaper alternative to their slippers.

Neelofa has kept mum on the matter so far, but Fipper recently released a statement apologising for the confusion and said that Fipper X The Noor is suitable for Muslim women who wear socks and want to wear slippers at the same time.

“Some of our previous products were unsuitable for Muslim women who wear socks,” the company said.
