With the current climate in our country, it’s no surprise that several states in Malaysia were hit hard by floods, forcing them to be evacuated from their homes.

Thanks to social media, we were able to see the hardships that our fellow Malaysians has to endure during the rainy season.

But one video in particular recently went viral after one the flood victim’s reaction to being rescued by the Fire and Rescue Department amused netizens.

Food over flood

A TikTok video uploaded by @Iskandar6400 shows a man stranded in his lorry with water levels rising as high as his vehicle's doors.

Two firemen approached the man, only to be surprised by the sight of the man cooking Maggi noodles in his lorry.

“Are you hungry?” asked the lorry driver.

“Yes, I am. But do you want to come down from the lorry now or stay here?” answered the fireman.

In the end, the driver, who was alone, declined the rescue offer and said if things go bad, he will find his way to a shelter.

“It’s okay, I want to cook and eat first,” the driver said while laughing.

The video has so far attracted over 450,000 views and over 20,000 retweets on Twitter.

Netizens, of course, loved the man's chill attitude:

Netizens were cackling over the driver’s spontaneous act and some joked that he had to ‘save’ his tummy first before saving himself.

We hope the driver is at a safe space by now, cooking and eating happily at a more conducive environment.
