We're not really sure why though because when the conditional Movement Control Order starts on 14 October, most shops will still be open.
While MKN has yet to release details, the initial announcement made by Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob mentioned that all economic activities (grocery shops included here) will operate as usual.
Perhaps a lack of clear communication by the authorities pertaining to the matter has gotten many residents worried.
Long lines of shoppers were seen outside supermarkets and other outlets hours after the announcement was made.

Why panic buying is bad
Anyway, while we understand that a lot of you are resorting to panic buying because, well, you're panicked and there's not a lot of specific information out there, you really should not do it.When you panic buy, you are actually depriving others of necessities.
Stocking up on trollies of toilet paper, instant noodles, oil, sugar and other basic necessities will only result in some other person or family (who really need these items) from purchasing it.
Remember how people ended up hoarding loaves of Gardenia bread and just disposing them later? It was just so wasteful.
Anyway, think about all of this before you load your trollies.
Also, you're only exposing yourselves to the virus when you stand in line at crowded supermarkets.
Is it really worth it?
