Ask any bookworm, and they would tell you that there isn't enough bookstores in Malaysia.

Well, if you're one of them, there's some extremely good news for you.

First store in Southeast Asia

World renowned Japanese bookstore chain Tsutaya Books is set to open their first outlet in Malaysia really, really soon.

In fact, the outlet in Malaysia will be their first bookstore in Southeast Asia, so yes, it's pretty special.

The Malaysian outlet will be opened at Pavilion Bukit Jalil in the first quarter of 2022.

Spanning 31,000-square feet, the bookstore will also play home to a lifestyle café which serves a delicious selection of pastries and beverages, specialised merchandise, and several activity areas.

Besides having one of the largest varieties of literary materials on-site, Tsutaya Books will be staffed by a team of expert Concierges, offering visitors personalised recommendations and assistance in genre-specific areas of interest.

Adding to the immersive experience, the store features a dedicated space for family-friendly activities, a playground and low bookshelves for children.

You'll also be able to find a vast collection of curated gifts and souvenirs from fine writing stationery, art and crafts, interior decorative items, fragrances and more.

The world renowned Tsutaya Books, famously named as “one of the world’s most beautiful bookstores”, opened its first outlet in 1983 in Hirakata, Osaka.

Two short years later, Tsutaya Books expanded to more than 200 outlets all around Japan.

Today, there are 1,200 Tsutaya stores in Japan and nine overseas in Taiwan and China. And soon, we'll be able to add one more to the list.

We are so excited! We can't wait for the Tsutaya Books to open.
