Sometimes all it takes is some creativity and innovation to give new life to something old.

That’s exactly what Universiti Malaya did with an old student bus at their campus.

Unused and unwanted at one time.

Universiti Malaya’s Master of Science student Siti Norasiah Abd Kadir said the idea to revamp the bus originated from the university’s former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof Faisal Rafiq Mahamd Adikan.

She told Malay Mail that Prof Faisal knew of two sustainability groups in the university and asked them if they could do something with the bus

A green initiative.

“I suppose the university still has sentimental value for the bus and that felt an idea like this could showcase the university’s sustainability efforts and the creativity of University Malaya’s own internal staff,” said Siti Norasiah.

The secretariat then started working with the university’s Development and Estate Maintenance Department (JPPHB) for the project last year, and it opened for rental this month.

Feast your eyes on the interior of this cool space.

So pretty!

Just lay around and read all day.

Earth friendly.

Perfect.

Books, books, books.
