In case you have lost track of time, as we all do since the Movement Control Order (MCO) period started, Father's Day is on Sunday (21 June).

Don't panic if you haven't planned anything or gotten a present; we're here to save the day, with some simple ideas that you can still execute.

Be it a homemade card or some tech gadgets, we have something for everyone to help make your dad feel special:

1) Make a card

Make Neil Buchanan proud
Here's the thing, cards are so 'bare-minimum' that if you just buy one and nothing else for any occassion, it'll just take away more points from you than it gives.

But, grab a good quality paper as well as some arts and crafts material and voila! You're the best child ever.

This could be especially meaningful and fun if the card is made by young kids. Mothers, you don't have to drag your kids out or even go yourself to get something nice for dad.

You don't even have to be good at art, just get creative. Add some hand prints, cut out dad's favourite things from newspapers and magazines or just print something off the internet.

2) Get him a personal assistant

You dad will love this
If your dad is into tech, this is a not-too-expensive option that you can look into. The Google Nest Mini basically works as a speaker and a Google assistant.

All your father will have to do is say "Hey Google" and request the device to play music, get an update on news and weather, and even help remind him of his appointments.

If your father is not so tech-savvy, you can even help him set up the device and pair it with all the other smart devices available. Extra brownie points for you there!

You can purchase one from Lazada by clicking here.

3) Get him a joke book

In case you're bored of your dad's lame jokes
If your dad is one of those who love his dad jokes, 'Super Dad Joke' by Jimmy Niro is the perfect book for him! Just drop by the nearest bookstore to get a copy.

You may not want to encourage the lame dad jokes, but trust us when we say you will one day reach a stage in life where you will not only start appreciating the jokes more, but actively participate too.

Who knows, you may learn a new joke or two to embarass your own kids one day too!

4) A gym or Classpass subscription

Redefine dad-bod
Dads need to keep fit too! Get your father a gym membership or if he's someone who prefers trying out different things, a Classpass subscription.

Not only will this be a great way to get them healthy but also something that you could do together.

Bond over sweats!

5) Cook/bake his favourite treats

Just try not to burn down the kitchen
You know your dad's favourites, be it baked goods or a yummy spread. Just go get the ingredients and prepare it for him.

Which Malaysian would say no to delicious food prepared at home especially if it's their favourite?

Get everyone at home to help so it becomes something fun and you still have some energy left at the end of the day to spend some quality time with dad.

If all things fails...

Time, love and attention are probably three most valuable things you can give your dad
At the end of the day, all parents want is some love and time spent with their kids.

Clear up your schedule, drive over to wherever they are if you don't live with them and cheer them up with your company.

Remember, your dad won't be around forever, so make sure you spend lots of quality time with him while you still can.

To all the dads out there, happy father's day!
