Trust the Japanese to come up with cake in a can and make it look attractive.

The cake in cans is produced by the operators of a chain of specialty parfait and risotto stores in Hokkaido and Tokyo, called Gaku.

According to a report in SoraNews24, the cake comes in transparent cans and from the outside, it looks too pretty too eat.

Dubbed as the ‘shortcake can’, it boasts layers of soft sponge, sweet fruits or jam and fresh cream. Nuts are also thrown in for texture.

Available only at Parfaiteria Bel in Shibuya, Tokyo, the cake cans are aimed at late-night sweet tooths cravings.

Among the flavours one can choose from include Blueberry and Fresh Cream Chiffon Cake, Strawberry and Fresh Cream Chiffon Cake, Citrus and Fresh Cream Chiffon Cake and Adult Tiramisu.

The cake in cans have gone viral, with many media outlets reporting on it and even trying it on live television.

With the craze over these cake cans, plans are underway to make it available in vending machines as well.
