Malaysia’s latest YouTube sensation, S. Pavithra may have fans from all over the country, but her most unexpected fan is Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Muhyiddin recently gifted the YouTube cook with a tripod, a microwave, an oven, a rice cooker and other cooking essentials.

"I never thought that I would receive gifts from the Prime Minister. Who am I? I am only an ordinary person. I even received a special card from him that had the message: keep up the good work, just stay at home."

"Nobody informed me that a parcel would arrive at my doorstep on Monday, even the card did not bear the Prime Minister's signature on it," she said as reported by New Straits Times.

A pleasant surprise

She said that several hours after receiving the items, she got a call from the Prime Minister's office asking if she received the parcel.

"That was when I knew that the parcel was from the Prime Minister. I would like to thank him and meet him personally, but I know it is impossible to meet him during this Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO)," she said.

The mother of two has been sharing cooking techniques in her signature soft spoken way together with her husband through her YouTube channel Sugu Pavithra.

With easy to follow recipes and a simple and straightforward presentation, the YouTuber has captured the hearts of many Malaysians.

Keep up the good work!
