What are parents feeding their kids nowadays? There seem to be so many geniuses and talented children making the news these days, we're almost jealous.

Latest in the long list of young Malaysians making great strides in the world (we're only talking about 2020) is Sangeeta Retnakumar, who just won five gold medals at the Ice Skating Institute (ISI) Asia Final Championship Series held in Bangkok.

Wakes up at 4am to train

The Standard Six student started competing on the ice skating ring at the tender age of seven, and has won many medals in the past four years or so.

The Star reported that Sangeeta represented Sunway Pyramid Ice Academy.

The student from SK Pusat Bandar Puchong 2 participated and won in the Freestyle 4, Solo Comp F4, Footwork F4, Open FS Silver and Drama Sport FS4 events.

Sangeeta wakes up and trains at 4am.
Her achievements, of course, didn't come easy.

While most of us would snooze our alarms multiple times before finally getting up and rushing to work or school, Sangeeta wakes up at 4am, four times a week, to practice her craft.

Her parents, Gayateri and Retnakumar, are a great support to her and encourange her to pursue her dreams of competing at the Winter Olympics.

Congratulations, Sangeeta. We hope your dreams will come true!
