If you have recently visited the Tropicana Golf and Country Resort, beware!

At least 23 local and foreign employees of the resort have tested positive for COVID-19, reported The Star.

Cases on the rise.

Quoting Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal the report said 11 positive cases identified on Sunday and 12 more today.

"This makes it 23 positive cases within the grounds of the Tropicana Golf and Country Resort's workers' hostel," he said.

Still operating despite call for closure

Despite that, Nik Ezanee said the resort was still operating even though the Health Ministry has ordered it to be closed.

He said an investigation paper had been opened under Section 269 of the Penal Code and Section 22(B) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Disease Act for negligently committing any act which was likely to spread the infection of disease dangerous to life.

Update: They are closed now.



He also has advised residents of Petaling Jaya to reduce movement.

"For now, everyone in Petaling Jaya should lessen their movement.

"Once you finish work, go home. Try to postpone gatherings and ceremonies for the time being," he said.
