Rescuing a stuck doggo

'Help me, please'.
A group of firemen from the Sungai Buloh Fire and Rescue Department received praises on the internet when they rushed out in the wee hours of the morning to rescue a stray dog which got its head stuck in the grilles of a metal drain cover.

The fire department's second senior officer Rosdi Hainan told Malay Mail that they received a distress call at around 1.58am on 23 July from a concerned citizen, who said that the poor doggo has been stuck for almost five hours.

"The caller said that the dog had been stuck there since 8pm last night. Initially he thought of waiting until the next morning to help the dog.

"But as he felt sorry for the dog, he called Bomba around 2am this morning,” Rosdi was quoted as saying.

Rosdi, who headed the rescue mission, said the operation involving six firemen took less than 10 minutes as the stray doggo was very calm.

After surveying the situation, the abang-abang bomba decided to use a hydraulic cutter to loosen up the metal grill cover.

"We cut some part of the metal and once the covers loosened, the dog managed to pull its head out of the covers by itself," Rosdi said.

Rosdi added that after freeing its head, the dog didn’t even run away but just sat there, probably reflecting on its poor life choices that led to it getting its head stuck in the first place.

Good job, abang-abang bomba!
