Our King and Queen, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdulah Sultan Ahmad Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, have been very hands-on in the fight against the epidemic.

However, both the Agong and the Permaisuri Agong have to take a back seat for now.

Self-quarantining for the moment

According to a report by Free Malaysia Today, both the King and the Queen are currently in self-isolation for 14 days after several palace staff tested positive for COVID-19.

Thankfully, the Comptroller of the Royal Household, Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, told the news portal that the royal couple tested negative for the virus.

Ahmad further revealed that seven palace staff were in a stable condition and are currently being treated at Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

They'll be back in no time.
Those who came into close contact with them have also been told to undergo screening for COVID-19, Ahmad added.

“While lauding the government’s announcement of the extension of the movement control order period to April 14, His Majesty also expressed hope that all Malaysians will stay strong in facing this difficult time and continue giving their support and cooperation to healthcare workers and security personnel,” he said.

Let’s hope our King and Queen will get better soon.
