Leading the headlines, "Sheriff" shattered box office records to become the highest-grossing film of the year, captivating audiences with its gripping storyline and stellar performances.
However, the month also witnessed disturbing events, including an incident where an OKU man was splashed with hot water, sparking outrage and calls for justice. Additionally, a shooting at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) left many in shock, raising concerns about security measures.

Sheriff: Narko Integriti lists eight in the Top 10 highest-grossing Malaysian films

Action thriller Sheriff: Narko Integriti collected RM35.5 million at the box office after only 11 days in the cinema, making it the top-selling movie of the year thus far.
The film directed by Syafiq Yusof follows a police investigator, Sherifuddin Hussein (Zul Ariffin) who weeds out corrupt members of the police force while trying to unmask the identity of Meth Killer, who has been murdering alleged corrupt cops.
The film also features notable industry names like Datuk Aaron Aziz, Syafiq Kyle, and Elizabeth Tan.
Woman imprisoned for intentionally splashing hot water on a man with Down syndrome in Penang

A sales promoter shocked many after a viral video showed her splashing hot liquid onto a Down syndrome man inside a lift at a flat block in Bayan Lepas, Pulau Pinang.
The unprovoked attack caused the victim, A. Solairaj, 33, to suffer burns to the front and back of his right side. The suspect was later sentenced to 10 years in prison and was fined RM6,000 after she pleaded guilty.
Man tries to shoot his wife at KLIA Terminal 1, injures her bodyguard instead

On 14th April, a shooting incident was reported in KLIA Terminal 1. The suspect, Hafizul Harawi, 38, was intending to shoot his wife, Farah Cie, who was waiting for the arrival of an Umrah group.
One of the shots hit a man who was Farah's bodyguard. He was rushed to the hospital where he had to undergo surgery and has since made a recovery. The incident was said to have originated from personal issues.
