The free-for-all app ensures that customers who have an Astro account will get to bring all their favourite shows with them wherever they go on their mobile devices.

Launched back in 2012, Astro GO has been the constant companion for those who have no access to a TV, especially when your parents are hogging it for one of their TVB marathons.

Now, seven years later, Astro GO has just unveiled a fresh new look and added a couple of new features.

The new update was rolled out since 8 July, so if you're still seeing the old interface, just head on over to the Apple App Store or Google Play to update your app and it will be good to go.

So, what's new with the app, you ask? Here's what:

#1 Easier navigation

Nobody likes an app that is not user friendly, but thankfully, you won't have that problem with the new Astro GO. The entire interface and user-friendliness has been revamped, making it easier for you to navigate through the app. Gone are the days where you need to scroll endlessly to find your favourite series to watch.

Your favourite TV shows are now grouped together, and the Hot Picks section is updated constantly so that you don't have to spend 15 minutes digging for things to watch. You can now access the 'Catch Up' segment to - well, catch up - on the latest series, binge-watch on 'Boxsets' and explore 'Movies', 'Kids' and 'Sports' - all with the tap of your finger.

#2 Enhanced search function

With hundreds of TV series and movies at your disposal, a good search bar is definitely a must. You'll find that in the new Astro GO. The team behind the app has revamped the search function, making it more intuitive and easier for you to find what you want to binge on.

The search function now offers recommendations based on the popularity of a TV series or a movie. Bonus: you can also search for your favourite shows by the name of the cast members or the director. Isn't that convenient?

#3 Discover more things to watch

Too lazy to search for new things to watch and wish that an app is smart enough to recommend to you the latest and greatest programmes? Astro GO listened, which is why the revamped app now features a cleaner, more interactive home page.

You can now see all the content you are entitled to on the app's home screen, making it easier for you to follow up on your favourite shows. The 'Continue Watching' function now enables you to pick up where you left off, so you don't need to go through the hassle of searching for the episode of 'The Big Bang Theory' you were watching before you fell asleep.

On top of that, you also have the option to add TV channels into your favourites list, which you can access straight from the home screen. To do that, just go to the Channel Guide from the home screen, click on your channel icon to “ Add as favourite’ and voila, you're done.

The good news is, with the new Astro GO, you can now access over 50,000 On Demand titles, including the latest season of HBO’s 'Big Little Lies', all seasons of 'Game of Thrones', Malay hits such as 'Curi Curi Cinta' and 'Jodoh-Jodoh Annisa', popular K-drama like 'Angels Last Mission', exclusive Chinese On Demand series 'Before We Get Married', and rent the latest movies such as 'Captain Marvel', 'Gostan', and 'Avengers: End Game' (coming soon).

On top of that, users can enjoy live sports, kids’ programmes such as 'Club Mickey Mouse', 'Upin & Ipin' anytime, anywhere on their device of choice.
